About Frank Montañez
Frank is a photographer fortunate enough to call Colorado home. Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, he has experienced what being a Latino in the US really means, as a result, he co-founded the blog “Cervantes@MileHighCity” (www.cervantesmilehighcity.com) with his brother, John Montanez. Written in Spanish, the blog is dedicated to literature, photography, film and cultural events. In addition to his writing interests, he has also been a volunteer chair for the Cherry Creek Arts Festival photography committee since 2005; enjoys listening to music, which includes a wide gamut of styles; traveling and experiencing cultures through their cuisine; and of course Photography, which sparked an interest at an early age after borrowing his father’s 35 millimeters camera. Trained with the traditional analog tools and dark room workflows, he applies these methods and techniques to digital equipment to capture his images. He enjoys photographing people, events, concerts and travel photography in places such as Japan, Italy, Peru and the United States, among others. In 2007, he launched Imago Photo Studio (www.imagophotostudio.com) and during his career, he has had the pleasure of learning and working with musicians, artist, writers and business owners on several projects.
