About Viviana Cordero

Born in Cuenca, Ecuador but moving to New York City as a toddler, Viviana found her sanctuary in Jackson Heights. As a double major in Cultural Anthropology and Latin American Literature at Skidmore College, she fell deeply in love with her mother language when discovering Miguel de Unamuno's and Gabriel García Márquez's work. She's had the opportunity to study abroad and travel around some of the Andean countries in South America and co-produce a short documentary on the lives of children and teens living and working on the streets in the lowlands of Bolivia. She finds fulfillment in loving her family, dancing and eating and is forever dedicated to constant learning. Currently she is teaching English as a second language and immigrant workers rights.
