Yo Solo Festival

If you are in the Chicago area, there is a new theater festival on the local arts scene. The Yo Solo Festival is a collaboration between Teatro Vista and Collaboraction, two organizations committed to uplifting and promoting independent theater arts.

From historic land battles in New Mexico, to Chicago through the eyes of Mexican immigrants, to Colombia in the 1940s, Yo Solo is an event that will display the breadth of talent and the rich complexity of each individual performer as they bring their own personal experiences to the stage, collectively creating a beautiful collage about the Latino experience.

Six solo artists were selected for the festival, after a national submission process. Their work will be presented at Collaboraction’s home in Chicago’s Flatiron Building through August 12th. In addition to six terrific solo performance epics, live music and individual arts installations will add to the festival vibe.
