Tired of your everyday police drama filling the airwaves? Looking for something more exciting to watch on weekday nights? Look no further….MundoFox is bringing you a modern take on police partners with a Latino twist.
Set and shot in Bogotá Colombia, Corazones Blindados (“Armored Hearts”) follows Raúl Ávila (Andrés Sandoval), a Lieutenant Coronel in Colombia’s National Police Force, intent on avenging the death of his father. But meanwhile, Raúl must face the dangers of working in one of the worst crime-ridden areas of Bogotá, known for its criminal organizations, brothels, and drug dealers.
Things heat up when Raúl meets Officer Diana Ochoa (Majida Issa), an honorable woman consumed with her own mission: finding her daughter’s father, Vicente Yáñez, who was kidnapped by guerillas years before. We can expect sparks to fly between Raúl and Diana, but will things get complicated if and when Vicente is found?
Aside from what promises to be a juicy love story (and possibly love triangle), the series also features real life cases encountered by the National Police Force of Colombia and special scenes shot at the military academy where Special Forces from Colombia and other countries train. Corazones Blindados will clearly have something for everyone….smart entertainment with the kind of passionate stories Latinos fall in love with.
The show promises to be just one part of exciting new programming from MundoFox, the third Spanish-language broadcast network in the U.S. The network aims to capture and bring to life the Latino experience of the present and future, nationwide.
MundoFox essentially targets the new U.S. Latino consumer, those of us who want high-quality programming in Spanish, but that is also more distinctly “American.” We at Being Latino are excited about what MundoFox will offer to Latino audiences by providing the kind of entertainment they can’t find elsewhere. To find out more about the network and your local channel, visit MundoFox online.
Corazones Blindados, directed by Israel Sánchez and Juan Felipe Cano, premiers on Monday, October 22nd and airs Mondays through Friday at 8/9 PM ET/PT. Check it out and stay tuned for the next parts in this series where we will take a look at the exciting talent starring on the show and give you a preview of what’s to come in future episodes.
