Given that Latinos have recently started to have a larger presence in the entertainment industry, I wanted to zero in on three Latinos that have had three very different careers but share two things in common — Latino roots and the same last name.
Age before beauty so let’s start with funny man G-Lo. George Lopez has been around for a while — getting his first movie role in 1990 as Eddie Martinez in Ski Patrol, followed by a plethora of TV shows, stand up gigs and movies — to his current role as host of Lopez Tonight. Lopez’s rough upbringing has allowed him the opportunity to look at life and always see the funny side.
Next — J-Lo, Jenny from the Block, Jennifer Lopez. Although J-Lo has been criticized heavily by Latinos for her lack of remembering where she came from — one cannot take away her accomplishments. Starting off as a “Fly-Girl” on In Living Color in the early ’90s, followed by a huge break in landing the lead role for the movie Selena in ’97, Lopez’s career has been followed by accomplishments both on the movie screen and through selling hit records.
Last but not least — Mario. M-Lo started his career off as “Slater” in Saved by the Bell, 1989 through 1994…. laid low with some various appearances and modeling gigs until 2006 when he appeared in Dancing with the Stars. Since then, M-Lo has been hosting, modeling and even dabbling into celebrity fitness training.
It brings me great joy to see Latinos who are doing BIG things– celebrity or not. After analyzing these three — I’m kinda curious — Which Lopez is the most talented?
Hmm…

Hmm, if I had to choose one of the three celebrity Lopez’s listed I would say that George wins my vote! His ability to overcome adversity and his contributions to the community are impressive and inspiring…plus I think he’s super funny ;O)
Jeniffer is sexy and all but George for me too – like most good comedians he is an intelligent guy even more so when not doing his routine. I have not listened to any of his stand up stuff for some time but it always makes me laugh – any non latino (even non mexican) saying that stuff (how mexicans mispronounce things .. that there is mines… etc.) I got a lot of Mexican friends and it is so true! (Lo siento, pero la verdad)
George, hands down
