The kidnapped Washington Nationals catcher said he is thankful to be alive a day after his daring rescue by Venezuelan commandos.

“The truth is I’m still very nervous, but thanks to God everything turned out well,” said Wilson Ramos on the country’s state TV, according to the Associated Press.

Ramos, 24, was abducted outside his home Wednesday night, but freed Friday.

He said his captors kept him a room with a bed, but barely spoke to him.

“They simply told me to cooperate, that they were going to ask for a ton of cash for me,” he said.

The worst part, he said, was thinking about what would happen if something went wrong.

“They put me in a room with a bed. I was lying there,” he said. “It was hard for me to think about, if I was going to get out alive first of all … about how my family, my mother were.”
