La Reina del Sur broke records in both Spanish and English-language television. With a budget of $10 million, it was not only Telemundo’s most expensive production, but it was the network’s highest-rated program in its 19-year history. The May 30, 2011 finale was the most-watched show in any language. These numbers did not go unnoticed by Fox TV Studios, who will be adapting the telenovela for an English-speaking audience.
This initiative by Fox TV Studios comes as no surprise, as News Corp. recently announced that it will be launching a Spanish-language network. The telenovela adaptation is part of the larger strategy to produce more content for the growing Latino audience in the U.S.

Such waste of time!
I love that they put the Words in english at bottom of screen!!
La Reina Del Sur was one of the best novelas out there. I just hope it is not converted into a silly/campy English version like what happened with Betty La Fea.
Loved it!! Don’t know about the english version tho
Soap opera’s are annoying in any Language
blahhhhhh…….not even going to watch it, only the real actors that are in the spanish form can make it live up to its hipe in English, but i highly doubt that thats how its going to go.
Best novela ever!
