Everyone seems to be talking about it – the infamous Brazilian wax. I even came across an article in Huffington Post about a Brazilian wax gone bad! Lesson: Don’t cash-in on a social media Brazilian wax deal. So what is all the hoopla about? The Brazilian wax was coined after Brazilian sisters who opened up a hot wax salon in New York City and they specialized in removing all of the hair in the genital area by pulling it out from the follicle using hot wax. It turns out that Brazilian women had been doing this for years and of course they’ve had to, have you taken a look at Brazilian bikinis lately?! You can wear the tiniest bikini or lingerie and it’s safe to say that you will not have to worry about hair exposure.
Interestingly enough, if you ask most men, they can tell you a lot about a bare vulva. The bare or highly manicured vulva has become common place in strip clubs and porn. Oddly enough, it’s not about looking like a nine year old, because in a VERY unofficial poll – I learned for most, it’s about being able to see all the bits and pieces. It turns out that it’s a big turn on. You can have little heart or arrow shapes trimmed into the hair that you choose to have left and if you are the ultimate Latina Bling Princess – you can even have little crystals placed in hearts, flowers or butterflies on your newly bare skin – Vaggazzling is here!
In the meantime, you are probably wondering – how does any woman endure such excruciating pain? The first time is the worse time and every time after tends to be a result of addiction! Unofficially, it has been reported that a hairless vulva increases sensitivity during intimacy – no brainer. We’ve learned it’s a big turn on for men… duh. And let’s not forget that putting down the razor with the razor bumps and the continual shaving is one less thing that we as Latina women can stop worrying about.
So, if you are considering taking the plunge here are a few tips: Go to a facility that Brazilian Waxes all day, EVERY day. There are plenty of options in major cities – Google and read reviews! You can’t avoid the pain, but the pain will be FAST – best to be in the hands of an experienced professional. Take pain medication an hour prior, trim down at home and take a friend to hold your hand in the waiting area! Hey, why not consider doing it for Valentine’s Day – give yourself a couple of days to heal up! Know in advance that yes it’s embarrassing and yes you will be asked to get into some “freaky” positions – but know without a shadow of a doubt that you will probably be a convert for life!
