Cuba is an island also known for its variety of cocktails. Here at Being Latino, we’ve shown you how to make Mojitos, Daiquiris, and Cuba Libres – all rum-based drinks. Cuba not only has great cocktails, but also makes its own rum, called Havana Club.

The Papa Hemingway

The Papa Hemingway (also know as the Hemingway Daiquiri or the Hemingway Special) is named after Ernest Hemingway. Cuba was one of the author’s favorite places to go. Daiquiris were one of his favorite drinks. After he learned he had diabetes, he requested a daiquiri drink made without sugar and the Papa Hemingway was born.

  1. Saw this on the HBO special Hemingway and Gellhorn they drank 19 of these straight.. Can we say tipsy? lol..

  2. Havana Club might be the Cuban dictatorship’s rum, but Bacardi will always be known as the original and real Cuban rum no matter where it’s made.
