  1. Itzel Yagual says:

    I love paella!

  2. There is a Spain Restaurant in the West Village in NYC, 113 W. 13th Street, that Jeannie and I used to patronize. Great tapas, paellas and sangria.

  3. Lee, I have been there. Good place. They do a coffee drink that comes to your table with some type of alcohol flaming and with whipped cream. They call it “el carraijo”.

  4. Oh, I haven’t had that there. However, Jeannie and I haven’t been there since the 1990s. lol Maybe we’ll head back there in April with the girls.

  5. Those Spanish places have been there in the Village since the 1930s opened by Spaniards fleeing Franco. They make this one dish called Pollo Villaroy which is basically a chicken cutlet covered in a thick white cream sauce and then breaded and deep fried! Sometimes they have a paella with black squid ink! Awesome! This is not Weight Watchers food but it’s good.

  6. Maybe I’ll try the Pollo Villaroy. It’s hard for me to try anything different than what I am accustomed to eating. I love Paella Valenciana (I think that’s the one we used to order with the chorizos). YUM!!! The Sangria there is to die for. One glass is enough to get me whoozy!

  7. Love the squid ink!!!

  8. However, I’d like to try the anchovies with nectarine thing. I watched this travel show a few months ago, and it’s an appetizer in the northern Spain.

  9. I’ve had Spanish Tapas– it’s good food.
