Why am I so tired? Possible causes of fatigue

One of the most common medical complaints is chronic fatigue. If you find yourself regularly tired or exhausted, you may not be getting the right kind of food, sleep, or exercise. However, you may also be experiencing a symptom of a more serious health condition.

Doctors recommend three key lifestyles changes that can help increase your energy levels: 1) eating a balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, and lean protein, 2) getting regular sleep for the number of hours you need, and 3) exercising regularly and with some intensity.

Chronic fatigue is also associated with different medical conditions including anemia (particularly in women), thyroid problems, depression, and even undiagnosed heart disease.  So if you’re living relatively healthily but are still tired, you may want to speak to your doctor about another underlying condition.
