Stop the duck lips, move away from the bathroom mirror: Tips for better portraits

Okay, so it actually goes without saying that the duck lips in pictures isn’t a good look for anyone. A fact confirmed by the dozen of memes, Facebook pages, and even an Anti Duckface website. But taking a good photo goes beyond lips that resemble a bird’s or any animal for that matter. Peter Hurley, a leading head shot photographer for celebrities offers some tips via the New York Times. Some may go against natural instinct, but they’ll help you look great in your photos.

Do the E.T.
Bringing your forehead towards the camera will feel and look funny from the side, but from the front it will clean up the neck and jawline.

Get all Renee Zellweger with your eyes
Well, maybe not quite like Renne, but squint slightly. The real trick is to squint with only your lower lids.

Laugh it up
Laughing will bring out natural expressions and help your face, and more importantly your mouth, relax.

    I don’t mind the duck lips but I absolutely hate when teen girl want to show their chesticles and dumpters asses! Almost as if, “really? Is this what it takes for young women to be noticed??” Sigh! Smh
