  1. Sandra Foyt says:

    Thanks for including my photo!

  2. My sister Paula for taking over the care of me and it’s not easy, believe me!

  3. Here is my entry for a fearless “Latina” (the original latin if you may – Spaniards are a Latin people – she is therefore a “Latina” by all means – can’t argue that) woman that has impacted my life as well as yours – even if you don’t know it. Isabel, Queen of Castile and Leon. It’s because of her that we really have “Latinos” and the real Reconquista that allowed Spain to come to the new world (as much as all of you hate that fact) opened the world to our origins as “Latinos” or “Hispanics” even if you are mixed or have half Spanish blood. If it wasn’t for this brave woman and her efforts to free her nation from an almost 800 year Islamic occupation of the Iberian peninsula 3/4 of us and our language, traditions, and mannerisms would not be here today. Here she is accepting the surrender of the Moors at Granada.

  4. Hey, where are the stock pictures of Rigoberta Menchu and Frida Kahlo that always pass for brave inspiring Latina women? You guys falling behind? Come on, get with the stereotypes.
