Denise Quiñones – A story of endless transformation

Proud Boriqua singer and former Miss Universe, Denise Quiñones, talks about her journey of personal and professional transformation in a new campaign titled, “Un Canto Al Cambio” sponsored by Pine-Sol. The ex-love interest of Calle13’s Residente, Denise proudly represented Puerto Rico in the Miss Universe pageant in 2001 and won the international title. Just days after winning, the beauty queen left her small town in Puerto Rico to chase a dream of becoming an actress. She moved to New York and has starred in several television, film and theater projects. While headlining in the Broadway tour of “Chicago” in the Dominican Republic, Denise met leading record producer, Pavel Nuñez. As a child, Denise would sing at home, at church and wherever there was an open mic and stage. But now in the recording studio with Pavel, Denise could reignite her passion and prove to the world that she isn’t just another pretty face, but rather a triple-threat. This month, “No Soy Sin Ti” was released. It is the freshman single of her album, “Ruidos y Silencios.” (Free download available at Canto al Cambio)

While her personal and professional story is still being written, Denise is hoping to inspire other Latinas on their own journey. Together with Pine-Sol, Denise is inviting Latinas across the U.S. to share their stories of personal, familiar or professional transformation in the “Un Canto Al Cambio” contest. To enter, just share a short essay or video for the chance to win $10,000! The winner’s story will also be the inspiration for an original song by Denise Quiñones to be performed in Los Angeles at Fiestas Patrias.
