A year before the 2012 presidential election, Hispanic voters are facing a choice.
They can continue to support President Barack Obama despite being hurt disproportionately by the economic downturn or turn to Republicans at a time when many GOP presidential hopefuls have taken a hard line on immigration.
Obama kicked off a three-day trip to Western states with a stop Monday in Las Vegas, where he was promoting his jobs agenda in Congress. Nevada has the nation’s highest unemployment rate, 13.4 percent. The trip comes as Republican candidates have taken a more strident tone on immigration.

As a minority, I don’t see why any person of color would ever waste their vote on a GOP candidate. Not trying to be a racist in this racist society, but the GOP has never done anything for minorities. It is ironic that the “Tea Party” states they are not a racist group, but have you seen them lining up behind their front-runner Mr. Cain? Humm…you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. Hispanics and all minorities in this country, if you want a fair shake, stay with Mr. Obama. Give him another 4 years and you will see he will keep fighting for us.
Gracias,

What an ignorant statement, Marcos! Generalizing an entire party, shame on you. How about the DREAM Act? That was the brainchild of John McCain (a proud member of the GOP). How about instead of looking at skin tone (and I say this as a proud Latina), we look for what individuals have actually accomplished and stand for. Obama has dug us even further into debt and spends money ridiculously fast to little result. EDUCATE yourself on the issues then make a public statement
Alexandra Obama hasn’t increased our debt. I am not one of his staunchest supporters please refer to the following Link its shows how he has not increased the debt nearly as much as the previous presidents. Perhaps you meant the deficit has grown? http://richardporterwritechatmessage.blogspot.com/2011/09/hey-patricius-explain-this-one-to-me.html
I will say this however. Americans need to get out of this party system and vote on issues. Support candidates that stand where you do on the issues and not just because they belong to the party we favor. if this were a true democracy then we would see more 3rd party candidates becoming president. The next president should speak with the voice of [majority of] the people plain and simple.
