What is your role with Being Latino and how did you get involved with the team?

Wow… that’s a broad question… well… Put it this way, if Rios 1 can’t be there, then Rios 3 will pick up the aces! (Don’t ask/worry about Rios 2…) My official titles are Events Director/Contributor and all around character extraordinaire!

What did you want to be when you grow up?
A Singer… Go Figure!

 Favorite subject in school and why?
Music…  Because it’s the only thing that gets people to shut up and unite over something, even if for only a few minutes at a time.

First purchase upon winning the lottery?
A compound to house all of my family, friends, and studio.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Amsterdam or Australia

What is one of the quirkiest things you do at work?
Pretend to give a f…. HI! How’s it going? How can I help you?

Which cartoon character does your personality most resemble?
Pinky & The Brain

What is your favorite Spanish word or phrase?
Claro que si! (B/c it reminds me of my mom!)

What is your specialty in the kitchen?
A Mess…. lol… Nah, Ummm… Breakfast wise Eggs/Omelettes are my specialty, I make good steaks, and chicken cutlets.

Cats or Dogs? Why?
Cats, even though my brother’s dumb cat is really on my bad side right now.

What would readers never guess about you by reading your blogs?
I’m tall.

Any hobbies?
Music, writing, laughing, and having fun with my friends.

If money were no object, what would you be doing now?
Traveling around the world in my mobile studio.

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
Other than take the stage and perform for hundreds and thousands of people? I saved Cesar Vargas from getting attacked by a radio active waterbug!

What do you read to stay in-the-know?.
Time Out NY, CNN, Huffington Post, and Being Latino of course!

About Robert Rios III

As a Singer-Songwriter, this NuYoRican Bronx Native has completed several independently released EP's, including "The Real R&B", "The Awakening", "The B-Side" and the upcoming "RR-Evolution", featuring the popular single and video shot in 2011 "Why?" - Performing steadily throughout the NYC Club circuit and well known within the Latino Arts Community. Trained as a Classical Vocalist care of the "Fame" school - LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, he's well versed in the styles of Classical, Jazz, Contemporary, Latin and R&B/Soul music, acting, and digital media. He will be featured in Being Latino's upcoming stream of video content, and also in the film Sojourner's Lament.
Building up a vast network within the entertainment industry, he has hosted, performed in, and produced various forms of live shows involving music, poetry, dance, and comedy. His focus has always been on the creation and promotion of quality English Language Entertainment, for and by Latinos.
Since taking on the role of Events Director, Robert has coordinated various contributor brunches and networking events, having partnered with such high profile clientele as Heineken and Hennessy. He was also featured as a guest speaker for a panel on Latinos in Modern Media at the 2011 All Roads Film Festival, presented by National Geographic.
